Research Associate – Biology
We are looking for a full-time Research Associate to join our growing Biology team. This individual will utilize their strong lab-based technical expertise to support the company’s primary drug discovery efforts. Responsibilities
- In this lab-based position, generate data to support biology efforts and strategic direction for our flagship program and pipeline
- Perform characterization of in vitro cancer cell lines and in vivo study samples
- Develop and implement protocols for 2D and 3D cell-based phenotypic read-outs
- Apply molecular biology techniques including qPCR, multiplexed expression analysis, Western blot, and ELISA, to quantify mRNA/miRNA and protein levels
- Perform target validation and mechanism of action studies using gene editing techniques (CRISPR/siRNA/shRNA) and treatment with small molecules
- Participate in and present results at internal group meetings
Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. in cell biology or related field with at least two years of experience in pharma/industry or academic translational research
- Strong understanding of cancer biology and/or RNA-dependent regulatory mechanisms.
- Excellent technique with mammalian cell culture and familiarity with cancer biology cell-based assays
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and attention to detail
- Enthusiastic team player, with ability to work among cross-functional disciplines
- Motivated, independent self-starter comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment
- Immunology, immune-oncology, and/or bioinformatics experience also a plus
