Cell Biology Research Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Grow and maintain a variety of cell lines in monolayer and suspension culture
  • Generation and maintenance of stable cell lines
  • Perform cell transfections with siRNA and plasmid DNA
  • Perform cell migration, invasion, proliferation, and luciferase assays
  • Expression profiling of cell lines via qPCR

Qualifications

  • B.S. in cell biology or related field with at least two years of experience in academic
    research or industry.
  • Strong research experience in cancer biology and/or RNA-dependent regulatory
    mechanisms.
  • Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture, generation of stable clones and various
    cell-based assay methods including invasion and proliferation assays.
  • Motivated, independent self-starter

Full-Time Research Scientist

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute research plans for target purification and characterization
  • Design and execute experiments probing inhibitor mechanism of action
  • Contribute to critical discussions of target structure and function
  • Manage offsite work performed at CROs
  • Direct and advise junior scientists

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biochemistry or related field with 0-5 years industry experience
  • Proficiency in protein chemistry and/or enzymology
  • Practical experience using biophysical techniques (e.g. ITC, SPR, NMR, CD)
  • Ability to critically evaluate relevant scientific literature
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and documented research

  • Execute routine protein-binding and enzymatic assays
  • Work with supervisor to design mechanism of action studies
  • Support protein purification with media and buffer preparation
  • Document and present research
  • Read scientific literature and contribute to group discussions

Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. in Biochemistry or related field with at least five years of experience in
    industry or a relevant academic lab
  • Familiarity with binding assays and basic enzymology
  • Experience performing microplate-based assays
  • Proficiency in experimental design and data analysis
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and documented research
